During their second module in Hong Kong, MSGF Class of 2017 had the privilege to hear directly from a seasoned PE/VC practitioner in Great China region. Mr Marvin Lai, Chief Investment Office, Cyberport Macro Fund and Executive Director, Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HKVCA) shared with our students on PE/VC practices and opportunities in China.
Topics such as PE/VC investment cycle, funding stage, PE/VC structure and value add, and APAC investment value and deal count were discussed.
Mr. Lai has over 30 years of experience in financial services (VC&PE), technologies, and consumption sectors. Mr. Lai began his career at IBM and AT&T Bell Laboratories, and has nearly 30 years of experience in financial services (VC&PE), technologies, and consumption sectors. Mr. Lai holds B.Sc. degree from Columbia University, EMBA degrees from INSEAD and Beijing Tsinghua University (Tsinghua SEM) and several other masters degrees.
